Cornish Art Prints started producing prints of paintings by artists featured at The Saffron Gallery in St. Agnes, but now has a range of over 250 prints of Cornish views by local artists.

We supply galleries and shops across Cornwall with mounted and framed prints, as well as selling directly to the public by mail order or via our workshop at St. Agnes.

Cornish Art Prints has expanded to offer a wide range of work by over a dozen local artists. Our artists range from internationally renowned painters, such as Nancy Bailey, Monica Childs and Stephen Cummins, to new artists who are just starting out in the art business. We are just as happy to include a few pictures by a new artist as we are a large range by someone well-known. It is all about quality, not quantity!

We specialize in traditional pictures of Cornish views, although some paintings have a more contemporary feel to them. Our pictures range from prints of oil and palette knife paintings to large panoramic photographs and watercolours.

Our prints are produced using the "Giclée" system using watercolour paper and seven-colour printers, using pigment ink that is light-fast for over 75 years*. Photographs are produced on Premium Glossy Photographic Paper using eight colour pigment inks at a resolution in excess of 5,600 dots per inch. If these prints are looked after they should be lightfast for over 100 years*. Pigment inks are less affected by fade and moisture than the usual dye inks used by many home printers. Some prints which we sell are bought direct from the artists, and may be lithographic prints. The pages on this website should indicate if this is the case.

Our prints are professionally framed and mounted by the Saffron Picture Framing Company at our workshop. The prints are mounted using mounts that are pH neutral as well as having a coating that is lignin and acid free. Lignin is a naturally occurring chemical that causes the paper to turn yellow (as with old newspapers) so our lignin-free board reduces discolouration. The acid free pH neutral board also helps to preserve the print.

Mounted prints are supplied with a backboard and cellophane wrapped for protection. Framed prints are usually supplied in a pine or ash frame, but we can supply them in a different frame if required.

As everything is done 'in-house' we can keep costs down, making it a realistic and affordable opportunity for new artists to produce prints of their own work, and for enthusiasts to start collections.

* Permanence data is taken from independent research carried out by Wilhelm Imaging Research. For more information visit There is lots of information on this site about inkjet permanence and the dangers of buying cheap prints - some will have faded in under ten years.
